A few years after Nick and I made the irrevocable choice not to have any more children- I began to deeply deeply regret that decision. I truly wish we had had one more child.
10 years ago (November 11, 2007), on a Sunday morning, a young man walked in our church. Allison Ellison Wofford took one look at him and that was that. I vividly remember her sitting in the pew in front of me and looking at me saying one word, "Mama".
Later that evening the doorbell rang at the house the youth group was meeting- and a voice came to my mind, "If it's that boy, she'll marry him."
It must have been the voice of God.
Marry they did- June 16, 2012- in the same church they met.
God has given us our fourth child. You see, we love that boy as if he is our own. Someday, Lord-willing and I pray, God will give us two daughters to add to our family. More than we ever dreamed, hoped for or prayed for. God is a giver of good things.
He has even given us a grandchild now, our dear Roman, the first of many, we hope and pray!
I love you Ben Wofford. You are a brother to Cody and Johnie- and a son to Nick Ellison and me. You are a blessing and we are so thankful for you.
