Lord, I don't want to be resentful. I don't want to hold anger. I don't want to be harbor judgment in my heart. I don't want jealousy to eat me alive. I don't want bitterness to overwhelm my soul.
Lord, You have made me brand new. I have a new inner man in which is Your home. Your pure, holy, unconditional, wholly encompassing Love is IN me (John 17:26).
When I am resentful, angry, judgmental, jealous or bitter- oh Lord- I feel nothing but chaos inside. I feel ugly. I feel like walls are built around me and I can't get out. I smother in my self-righteousness.
Because you won't let me feel comfortable- complete, whole, right- when I am walking according to my flesh. Oh that flesh that pulls me away from You. Flesh= me focused only on me. Flesh= how I cope and live life apart from You, living out of MY own resources and not You.
When I, Your new creation, hold in my heart and mind resentment, anger, judgment, jealousy or bitterness- YOU gently remind me:
"Starla, this is not who I created you anew to be. I live in you now. I am your source for all that you need. You don't need to walk according to your old ways. You have Me now. I have come to give you true, living Life. You don't have to live encumbered and enslaved anymore. I am Freedom. You are free to let go of those people and things that have offend you and insult you. Those grudges you hold- let them go. That's not who you are anymore. You are free to let go of anger and be at peace inside and out, with all men and women. That's not who you are anymore. You are free not to judge others anymore. That's not your place, anyway. You are free to walk beside that one you judge, instead of judge. You are free not to be jealous of others. That's not who you are anymore. You are free to be content inside and out. I am Your Provider in all things and all ways. Choose My Way. You don't have to be bitter. Bitterness dries you up from the inside-out. You can now choose to be Joy-filled. Joy= inner calm delight and the awareness of My Presence in you.
