You just never know how a day will go....but God does!

So my last post was about the gardening overall's I bought for $4 at the Brown Roof Thrift Store...

well, they haven't been fitted to me yet because...

right after that Nick called.

Lord, what a week it's been.

This is what my facebook post was once things settled down which was on Wednesday morning:

"We want to thank everyone who prayed/called/texted/messaged/thought of Nick Ellison yesterday. He had been having a problem with his left hip for about a week. Monday he went to the doctor and it was an inflamed tendon. They gave him a shot...and was supposed to feel better in a couple of days.

Tuesday when he was walking out to lunch he said he felt like something "broke" in his hip and went all down his leg.  Then the intense pain in his leg began, it started swelling, going numb and turning red- except his toes which were turning blue.

Johnie and I went and picked him up. We came back home but a family friend who is nurse suggested we go to the ER. So we went to Mary Black Hospital. By now Nick could barely walk- his leg (from hip/pelvic area to toes) looked TERRIBLE.

When the nurse and PA saw him at Mary Black they immediately called a vascular surgeon- there was no pulse in his foot. The one at MB was in surgery so Nick was taken by ambulance to Spartanburg Regional.
At Regional an ultrasound was done on is leg again- along with massive amounts of painkiller. He had a bit of a pulse in his foot but he has extensive blood clots in his vein. Turns out this is genetic- his great grandmother, grandmother, father, aunt and sister all have had this and we think it's all in their left leg.

So, they put Nick to sleep, flipped him on his stomach and put a teeny tiny catheter all through his vein then ran a clot busting medicine and two bloodthinners.

When we saw him after surgery he was in a lot less pain and his foot and leg was looking better. He can't move his leg for 24 hours.

Today they will see how the catheter they inserted, the clot buster med and the bloodthinners are doing. They are also going to do another ultrasound on his pelvic area to check another vein.

Again...thanks everyone and please continue to pray for my Nick.-"

On Wednesday they removed the catheter from his leg and adjusted the bloodthinner he is now on.

He came home on Thursday morning.  He is doing well.  He is resting and moving around some.  He can go back to work on Monday and Tuesday half days then his regular schedule on Wednesday.

Hopefully he will get some rest the next couple of days.

This post is mainly about what happened to Nick...my next post is going to be about what God FOR Nick....the way we saw God move and lead was so...loving.  What a loving, concerned God we have.

Ready to go home and take a shower!
