When we built our dining room on- around 2002- we decided to keep the same roofline as our porch. So the entrance into our house would be moved from the living room to the new dining room. But...a low roofline means having to step down into the dining room then back up again into the kitchen- EVERY time someone comes in or out.
This can pose a probably for someone whose legs may not work like they used to! Or you carrying a bunch of groceries, etc.
Our dear Connie has Rheumatoid Arthritis and her legs sometimes do not work like she wants them to work...and Nick's beloved Aunt Debbie also has problems with her legs. We want everyone who comes into our home to be comfortable.
So when Connie and Beas gave us $25 each on an Am Ex card for Christmas- we built a bridge. Now why do we call it a bridge?
Connie was at the house one day and I commented that we needed to build the floor up in that area so it would be easier to get into the kitchen...and she said, "A bridge!"
So..now...we have Beasley's Bridge.
