Lay aside!!!!!!!!!

Lay aside! Lay aside!

Ever wonder why you JUST CAN'T LET GO of something? Maybe your mind is in constant motion...thinking...thinking...thinking...trying to figure it, find a way, make it work, make it stop, make it go...for something to do and be exactly the way you want it to do and be?

What IS it you can't lay aside? Most of the time, for me personally- it's me. I can't lay ME aside. My, my, my. My wants. My dreams. My confusion. My expectations. My demands. My rights. My fears. My anxiety. My hopes. My....

Me...I can't lay ME aside. I put ME first.

What is your "MY" that you can't lay aside?

What happens when you and I, can't lay something aside? What's the result of putting our self first in all things...in our mind, in our will and in our emotions?

We lose heart, grow weary, give up, become tired, weakened.

How did we get this way? How did we get so weary and lose heart? We didn't lay aside whatever it is that encumbers, hinders, weights us down and/or sin that so easily entangles us AND...

Fix/keep our eyes (our whole being) on Jesus. See, He is the point here. We can't fix our own self. We can't even lay anything aside on our own.

For me, it's through the intimate communion, fellowship and oneness that I have with Jesus- the Author, Founder, Pioneer, Champion, Perfecter, Finisher, Completer- the very Source of Faith. The One who sat down when His work was completed. His work for me, in me, to me and through me. It is Finished.

I choose to believe and live from this Truth.

Hebrews 12:1-3
1Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
